Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service that allows users of one library to borrow books or receive articles or documents that are owned by another library.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL)  is a service that allows you to obtain articles and books that are unavailable at our library or through our lending partners in MOBIUS.

Will the library always be able to get my article?

While the library is able to obtain copies of most articles from our partner lending libraries, there are times when we can't obtain an article for various reasons. Luckily, we are able to obtain 98% of all articles requested through ILL.

How do I request an article, book or book chapter through ILL?

Click on either the Articles or Books tab to the left for more detailed information on placing Interlibrary Loan requests.

Can I get an eBook through ILL?

Due to licensing restrictions, we are unable to borrow eBooks through MOBIUS or ILL. 

How will I get my requested material?

  • Books: An email notification will be sent to your STLCOP email address when your book is available and ready for pick-up at the Library Service Desk.

  • Articles: You will receive an email with your article attached as a PDF file.
